NEW Alternative build of SLIMax Mgr Pro without Native Fanatec Support

Hi,

Now Fanatec have its “in-house” and official tool to manage Fanatec hardware I built a new Alternative version of SLIMax Mgr Pro without the native support of Fanatec hardware. The new build is optimized and doesn’t load any library from Fanatec SDK. All Fanatec features are removed. You have now the choice to run SLIMax Manager with or without the native support.

As usual “Check For Update” to get this additional optimized version. After the update simply go to the SLIMax Manager Pro program directory and run SLIMaxMgrProNoFanatec64.exe app (create a shortcut of the app on your desktop if needed). This is useful if don’t have a Fanatec steering wheel or CSP pedals set or want to use the official Fanatec tool in addition to SLIMax Mgr Pro.

Devices display and EMUlators supported by this version:

SIM Display: SIM Race LCD, SIM Race F1, SIM Race GT, SIM Race Deluxe, SIM Race Pro

Leo Bodnar: SLI-M, SLI-PRO, SLI-F1, SLI Bodnar Fanatec Conversion Kit

Steering wheel: Thrustmaster TS-PC Racer Ferrari 488 Challenge Edition, Steelseries SRW-S1, Logitech G27/G29

VDASH-EMU (Virtual Racing Dash Emulator): Windows, Android and a special version for SIM Race LCD

VirtualToReal (V2R) Technology included

Cheers,
z

VDASH-EMU is an emulator, but what’s an emulator?

VDASH-EMU is an emulator, but what’s an emulator?

EKSIMRacing created the SLI-PRO EMU (SLIEmu) in 2009 during the creation of the SLI-PRO USB display in collaboration with Leo Bodnar at this time it was necessary to test the software even before  the availability of the prototype of the USB card, for that stuff we must create what is called an EMULATOR, which aims to reproduce exactly the internal software of the card (the FIRMWARE) and according to the commands sent to the card (so to the firmware) to get the same behaviors for leds, display panels, gear, buttons, encoders, switches, etc.

SLI-PRO emulation on Android (first gen EMU released in 2009):

By doing this you can test your USB display card management software without having the card available physically. That’s how the first racing display emulator for Android was born.

In engineering, emulation is commonly used during development and before the manufacture of a new product. F1 engines are emulated to optimize their efficiency and effectiveness.

VDASH-EMU is the 2nd generation emulator (much more powerful) and it is not a simple graphic dash racing as we can find tons on the net, it’s firstly an emulator of an USB device ( the SIM Race F1 SIM Display) in other words the internal software of the USB card (the firmware) is emulated which allows to use it exactly like a real racing display, which also allows to have 32 buttons , 5 encoders, 3 switches, 15 RPM leds, 6 Marshal Leds, 7 externals leds, 2 display panels (right and left) of 4 digits of 14 segments and one central digit of 7 segments for gear.

All configurations applicable to the SIM Race F1 usb card are applicable to the VDASH-EMU. In addition to the standard graphical objects (digital and analog gauges, telemetry DATA, tach, labels, etc.) there are some objects directly managed by the emulator, including the left / right panels, the object RPM shiftlights bar, all Leds, big gear object (central gear display), buttons, encoders, switches.

So you can read the doc and tutorial of SLIMax on the SIM Race F1 usb card because it’s directly applicable to VDASH-EMU objects.

You have the same features as the SIM Display USB Display Card + a full buttonbox + a complete virtual racing dash with hundreds of dash templates ready to use.

A high resolution SIM Race F1 template for the VDASH-EMU is available at EKSIMRacing VDASH-EMU templates repository (see the link below), this is an example of template using objects managed by the EMUlator:

Here is template this time using several objects:

Hello Friends!
During the development of the SLI-PRO with Leo in 2008/2009 EKSIMRacing unveiled the  first sim-racing app for Android 2.2 or greater. A complete hardware emulator of the firmware of the upcoming SLIPro display. The idea was to emulate the firmware to be able to test the “SLIPro Mgr” application. Despite the emulation the Android app works today in full screen with no lag!
The manager has been heavily improved and became in 2011 the SLIMax Manager!  The current 2014 version 3.4.2 of SLIMax Mgr  is at light years from the first version! 🙂  manages more than 50 sim/games, support a lot of device displays and steering wheels, much more powerful and really  easy to use.
Today, I’m proud to present you a new “ultimate” 😉 emulator for Android in development which obviously be powered by the SLIMax Manager and includes a firmware emulation of the SIM Race F1 display + input controller with:

  • 15 RPM leds
  • 6 Marshal leds
  • 7 External leds
  • 1 Central gear digit
  • 2 panels of 4  digit
  • 32 buttons or 16 encoders
  • 9 Rotary switches

in addition to this amazing display specs I added the support of a hi-res touch-screen (which is the screen of your smartphone or tablet obviously). The Dash-Emu will be entirely customizable, provided with at least 3 templates NASCAR Spek Pro Gauges, Cosworth like Dash and DSD like buttonbox.
The real hardware display corresponding (almost) to this emulator is still in development and not intended to be released this year…
All current owners of EKSIMRacing hardware emulator (SLI-Emu / SRF1-Emu license) will get the new app for FREE! 😉
The cost of the emu is unchanged (which include 3 emus now,  the SLI-PRO Emu, the SIM Race F1 emu and the SLIMax Dash-Emu asap 😉 ).
As usual all GOLD Subscribers will be able to take part to the alpha/beta test of the new emulator in beta group of the support forum.
Cheers,
Zappadoc
